Sr. Java Software Engineer

Job Description:

The successful candidate will join a global application development team working on leading edge software products; he/she will be exposed to various new technologies and latest software product development process

Job Requirement:

  • Required Skill Sets:
    - At least 5 years of Java/J2EE working experience designing and developing web based applications.
    - More than 2 year experience of J2EE server.(e.g., Websphere, Weblogic, JBoss).
    - Solid knowledge of Struts, EJB, JMS and XML processing.
    - Experienced in JUnit and writing unit test for code.
    - Good English read, write and speaking required.
    - Interested in technical, and possesses good communication skills.

  • Required Education:
    - B.S. in Computer Science or its equivalent (Masters is a plus)

Sr.QTP QA Engineer

Job Description:

  • Work with QA testing engineers and developers to design automation strategy.
  • Lead members to set up automation testing process.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation scripts (QTP) for functional and regression testing.
  • Execute automated tests, deliver reports, analyze results, and make suggestion to improve QA testing efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years test automation experiences (designing automation strategy and writing scripts using tools such as QTP).
  • 3+ year experience in web application testing or coding.
  • Good understanding of QA practices and testing methodologies.
  • Good oral and written English.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills; good analytical skills; self motivated.
  • Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.

Sr. Linux System Administrator

Job Description:

  • This person will need to wear 2 hats. One set of responsibilities will be focused on the needs for the San Carlos lab servers which mimic the Lundy production environment and the other set of responsibilities centers on supporting and maintaining a few linux servers for a Corporate IT environment.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Linux environment.
  • Comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration; for example, configuration of mail systems (Qmail), system installation and configuration, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software.
  • A solid understanding of an operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems (understands what iostat, mpstat, netstat are and the information they provide).
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS and LDAP, AD domains; can use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS; understands basic routing concepts.
  • Ability to write scripts in one or both administrative languages (Perl, shell)
  • Solid understanding of RAID concepts and working within a SAN environment.
  • Support all linux applications including Nagios, Cacti, Twiki, Perforce, Testo, Apache, Bugzilla, etc.
  • Provide documentation of work done for new and existing implementations.
  • Ability to analyze log files, check processes and log files, retrieve and review information contained within logs for troubleshooting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Independent problem-solving, self-direction.
  • Good English in reading and writing.

Sr. Science Engineer

Job Description:

  • The Science Engineer is responsible for researching, resolving and recording all levels of science-related questions from DemandTec Support Engineers quickly and consistently. This involves working closely with other members of the Support and Science teams to identify the best solution for customer issues in an effective manner. Additionally, the Science Support Engineer will ensure the quality of our science by designing, creating and maintaining test cases for all existing and upcoming Science features. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and reliable and will possess a strong background in a quantitative field. Interpersonal and communication skills are especially important as the individual will be expected to explain difficult scientific and technical concepts to both internal and external users. Must be able to handle multiple priorities, be very flexible, and work well with minimum supervision. Must be able to take initiative and succeed under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Support and Science teams to resolve science-related customer issues.
  • Develop tools to streamline our Science troubleshooting process.
  • Work with members of the QA team to develop test cases for science features.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Management Science, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to express technical concepts in clear, concise terms.
  • Familiarity with linear, nonlinear, and integer programming.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and great comfort with handling vast quantities of data and summarizing meaningful insights.
  • Experience in SQL, Perl, Excel, and Shell Scripting.
  • Produce documentation for new processes related to the maintenance of the application
  • Must be available on a 24x7 basis

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in statistical software (it can be SAS, Splus, R, Matlab).
  • Experience in econometric modeling.
  • Experience conducting retail merchandising and marketing analyses.
