Executive Team

Mark Wang-Founder is an experienced IT professional with over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. He has master degree of Economics and MBA. Prior to Sonata Services, Mr. Wang was the senior vice president and general manager for the Asia Pacific region for Sybase Corporation where he served from 2000 to 2003.

Mr. Wang graduated with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1972. Between 1974 and 1977, Mr. Wang worked as a technical manager for the IllinoisDepartment of Transportation.

He subsequently joined Xerox Corporation as their finance manager from 1977 to 1984. From 1988 to 1992, Mr Wang served as managing director for Central and Southeast Asia of Oracle Corporation. He joined Informix Corporation in 1992 as their Vice President and general manager for the Asia Pacific region where he served until 1994. Mr Wang subsequently worked at Digital Equipment Corporation from 1994 to 1995 as the vice president, systems business unit, for the Asia Pacific region. From 1995 to 1998, he was senior vice president and general manager for the Asia Pacific region of Seer Technologies Corporation. He joined Candle Corporation in 1998 as vice president and general manager of the Asia Pacific Region and left in 2000.

Danny Fung-Chief Operating Officer graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Taiwan Feng Chia University in 1972. Then he continued his study in Concordia University, Canada, where he got his B.A. degree in Commerce. Between 1981 and 1989, he was a sales manager in Asia Pacific Region for DEC. Later, he became a general manager for Computer Vision in China region.

In 1989, Mr. Fung formed the first foreign-financed software company in China, Oracle (China) Software Ltd. Under his outstanding leadership and management skills,Oracle China had grown up to the biggest software company in China in 8 years. Its average revenue was around 32 million USD annually and had more than 275 staffs.

Mr. Fung established Platinum (China) Ltd in 1997, and chosen as Managing Director. In 1998, he was rewarded “Most Top 50 Influenced Individual in ZhongGuanCun High Tech Park” by Computer China.

From 2000, Mr. Fung joined Sybase China and worked as Managing Director. With his brilliant endeavor, Sybase China got an incredible increase in business and it made the company become one of the top 4 big shots in the China software market. In 2002, Mr. Fung was elected “100 Most Crucial people in China’s IT field” by the survey from some big websites, and in the next year, he was rewarded “Top 10 leading people in China software companies” by Software World, which is the most famous magazine in China IT field.

Sean Gao-General Manager has over 13 years of working experience in IT industry, managed large-scale product line and projects from c

radle to grave, also seasoned in key account management. He holds a master degree in software engineering. Prior to Sonata Services, Sean worked as senior software engineer for Skyway Inc. and Scientific Software Inc., both located in Silicon Valley, from 1996 to 1999. From 1999 to 2005 he served as chief architect, product manager and engineering research director for Appeon Inc., and played a key role in building up a development team from scratch, boasting of over 400 engineers, the biggest one in Shenzhen, China at that time. Later on he worked in Appeon (USA) office as project manager.
